The Reverend Ken Parker was appointed by Bishop Scott Jones of the Great Plains Annual Conference to serve the Meriden United Methodist Church on July 1, 2015.

Parker is a native of Kansas and has been a United Methodist pastor in Kansas since June 1983.  He was ordained an elder in the Kansas West Conference United Methodist Church in May 1990 at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS.

He was born in Tescott, northwest of Salina to parents who were native to Nebraska and Florida. He graduated from Tescott High and is a graduate of Kansas Wesleyan University with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology. He married Nancy in 1980 at Broadway United Methodist in Kansas City, MO. They have two married daughters and four grandchildren. 

As a 1988 graduate of Phillips Graduate Seminary in Enid, Okla. with a Masters of Divinity degree he has served United Methodist churches in Arkansas City (associate pastor), Oxford, Geuda Springs, Salina First (associate pastor), Concordia First, Beloit and Stilwell and now Meriden.
